Those were the days

To those of you born in the 1970s or 1980s, take a trip down memory lane...
You grew up watching He-man, MASK,Transformers,Silver Hawk and Mickey Mouse.
Not toforget NinjaTurtles, Care bears, My Little Ponyand Smurfs too...
You grew up brushing your teeth with amug in Primary school during recess time.
You willsquat by a drainwith all your classmates beside you,and brush yourteeth with a coloured mug.
Theteachers said you mustbrush each side 10 times too.
You know what SBC stands for.
You pay 40 cents for Chocolate orStrawberry MILKevery week in class.
You watch a very popular Malay dubbedJapanese dramaon RTM1 about schoolgirls who possesspowerful skillsin volleyball called Meoro Attack.
You find your friends with pagers andhandphones coolin Secondary school.
SBS buses used to be non-airconditioned.
The bus seatsare made of wood and the cushion isred. The big redbell gives a loud "BEEP!" whenpressed...
Bus fares barely reached 50 cents.There are colourful tickets for TIBSbuses.
Theconductor will check for tickets byusing a machinewhich punches a hole in the ticket.
Envelopes were given to us to donateto SharityElephant every Children's Day.

Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, The ThreeInvestigators,Famous Five and Secret Seven areprobably the thickeststory books you ever thought you haveread.
Even SweetValley High, Malory Towers. AndR.S.Stine andGoosebumpseries were probably the scarieststory you ever read.
KFC used to be a high class restaurantthat servedfood in plates and lets you use metalforks andknives.
The most vulgar thing you said wasasshole and idiotand THE MOST EXTREME WAS 'superwhite'... you justcouldn't bring yourself to say theHokkien relative.
Catching was the IN thing and twist asthe magic word.Your English workbooks was made ofsome damn poorquality paper that was smooth andyellow.
There was once the craze over Tamiyacars and toydispensers where you had to slot in acoin and twistthe knob, while your other handanticipated thetoy to appear.
20 cents for colourfulrubber balls and50 cents / 1 dollar for toys inplastic egg shells.
The only computer lessons in schoolinvolved funnypixellised characters in 16 colourswalking abouttrying to teach you maths.

Every Children's day and National dayyou either getpins or pens with 'Happy Children'sDay 1993' or dumbfiles with 'Happy National Day 1994'.
In Primary six you had to play buddyfor the youngerkids like big sister and brother.
We wear BM2000, BATA, or Pallas shoes.
Your form teacher taught you Maths,Science andEnglish.
The worksheets were made of brownrough paper of poorquality.
You went to school in slippers and araincoat when itrained, and you find a dry spot in theschool to sitdown, dry your feet, and wear your dryand warm socksand shoes.
School dismissal time was normallyaround 1 pm.
There would be spelling tests andmental sums to doalmost everyday.
Your friends considered you lucky andrich if yourparents gave you $3 or more for pocketmoney everyday.
You see Wee Kim Wee's face in theschool hall.
You freak out when the teacher tellsyou to line upaccording to height and hold handswith thecorresponding boy or girl.
Boys like to catch fighting spiders.
Collecting andbattling erasers was a pastime forboys.
Autograph books were loaded with "BestWishes","Forget Me Not", and small poems like"Birds fly high, hard to catch.Friend like you, hard to forget".
Class monitors and prefects loved tosay "You talksomemore, I write your name ah!"
There were at least 40 people in oneclass.
Large, colourful schoolbags werecarried.
You brought every single book toschool, even thoughthere was one thing called thetimetable.
