2nd day of PRCP

These two days have been about talks and talks and talks with the nurse educator and then the staff nurses, with the sole emphasis of doing proper charting and meeting up to JCI standard practices and doing rigid robotic routines of keeping the cubicle spick and span. I noe they meant well, but i got so damn sick of it when the staff nurse mentioned how to go about doing the nursing admission form for the umpteenth time. I think its too early to judge how sucky my attachment is gonna be, but just now in the ward i dun feel like a prcp student.

i felt like an antelope lost in a village fending for itself for survival. The first thing the nurse did when we first came into the ward was to leave us in the cubicle and then asked us to stick to sum staff nurses we didnt noe. I was expecting some kind of reaction, some introduction, some delegation, some scolding for being a slowass if they might, but we, or at least i, would just stood there unnoticed that even a dying patient wouldnt even care. i guess its my fault that i expected a whole lot more since im now in PRCP, not some normal attachment, and believing the fact that we have our own preceptor of sort. I think the rest also thought there would be more things than just this. When the two girls went to ask the sister if they could give meds, i knew sister would lecture them about it. And i was right. She said right now we would be doing all those AN jobs and as time goes by we would acquire more skills. FIne, fair enough. Then to end her sentence she said sarcastically that being an SN is not just about going around serving meds, and gave a wry stupid oh-im-so-witty-piece-of-shit kinda smile. Like wtf lah. People ask, wrong, people dun ask oso wrong. ZzZz. If i had known PRCP is going to be like this, i wouldnt have complained like a epileptic bitch. so now that i noe what their expectations are (stay in the cubicle , tidy up the rooms, pick up rubbish dammit)i noe what to do. That senior nurse educator talked to us the first day saying like as if they gonna prepare hell, that the sisters were all alert ready to challenge our souls.and what do ya noe, our ward sister didnt even noe we are doing PRCP in her ward. In the end, the only hell felt was the hot boiling water in the pantry. k lame.

Tmr is another long day. I hope i can gel with the staff.
