I touched a butt today..

And it didnt feel good. I had to once again assist my ITE friend to wash up a new patient's butt. He wore diapers. And it was full inside. So once again, we had this familiar smell and this familiar mess. Thank god he was around and he did most, once again, the swiping. But there was some abcess(is that the right spelling?) or some sort of wound that is concave and raw flesh is seen, just behind the scrotum. So when he excreted, the shat was deposited into the absess.And the poor guy had to scoop up the brown thing like scooping Ben and Jerry's chocolate fudge ice cream into a crystal glass. I pity him, cuz raw wound and brown things dun work hand in hand. The cleaning, the infections, you get what I mean.

What's worse was when he started to fart while my fren was cleaning him. It was very loud, as if he had just devoured a rhinoceros, and there was exactly three spurts of liquid chocolate fudge being sprayed onto the bed. Being the ever efficient guy that he was, he cleaned everything in no time. I was in awe..He was very good. He even got a commendation from the patients from the WHOLE ward. My utmost respect.

Anyway, the worse was yet to be seen when I had to see catheterisation being done on the same patient. The expression on the patient's face confirmed my belief that it is very painful process. His eyes was shut all the time while the doctor mercilessly screw the huge catheter into the urethra. Yup, merciless is the acurate word to describe them. Or maybe Im such a pussy. I think I dun wanna own a urethra ever again after that observation. Owch..

So in the morning was the usual things. Got scolded by the staff nurse, did parameters, talk to patients..blah blah..

But I was shocked when Leonice cried after being given harsh words by the staff nurse. I guess she was shocked too, cuz right after that, she was super nice to us! So I must thank her for crying. LOL..At least she showed her that she was too much at times, and I agreed with her..

All these dirty work and gory stuff dissapeared from my mind when the patients thanked us and were appreaciative for the things that we did for them prior to their discharge. Im sure we are gonna get worse patients, and Im prepared for that. My ITE fren gonna end his attachment tomorrow and Im so gonna miss him, especially his art of asswiping..Dammit, Im so long winded in this entry..
